Wherever no additional network cable should be laid – as a subsequent cable installation would come along with large construction efforts – or thick walls and multiple floors make
a WLAN impossible/ unstable, the new SUPERmini powerline adapters from ICY BOX are an excellent option.
Expand the network within a maximum range of 300 meters stable and comfortable on the power grid and thanks to the practical, pass-through outlet (IB-PL250/550) no slot for another device is lost. Even with plugged in "power guzzlers" such as a dryer or water heater the built-in electrical noise filter ensures consistently high performance and signal strength of the adapter.

Good or even excellent, that was the appraisal of its predecessor. What is different, what is even better with the new IB-MP3011Plus? What does the Plus in the name of the new network-multimedia player stand for? It is based on the Realtek chip RTD1185 which is employed by ICY BOX for the first time. Sure, the Olympic Spirit made a contribution to this external case for a 2.5“ HDD. The Firewire 800 port makes data traffic from and to a Mac faster. A USB 3.0 port provides speed when one’s dealing with a PC. Using a Mac, USB 3.0 the port works with USB 2.0 equipment. The HDD might be higher than normal–up to 12.5 mm–so there can be more memory–up to 1 TB. Nicer is impossible.

Formatting. When this is done the drive-icon will appear on the screen. GR3630-WSB3 cooperates with the Windows, Linux and Mac OS. Chose RAID level. RAID 1 is set by default. That means all data are mirrored from HDD A to HDD B. Chose RAID 0 and you have the maximum storage capacity plus faster processing. More features contributing to simplicity. Built-in power supply. Optical and acoustic alert in the case of HDD failure, fan failure or overheating. Auto-rebuild. Hot swappable tray module provides HDD for easy installation.
(3) Forget
That way you can work for months and years. As there also is this really imperturbable reliability of a RAIDON RAID enclosure. In the new ICY BOX IB-SAFE226, an external enclosure, an AES-256 encryption protects the data on the 2.5” SATA HDD. The user needs a physical key and the enclosure with its special chipset. To decrypt the HDD he needs the same key and an appropriate enclosure. Without the key: nothing. So you better do not keep the key too close to the enclosure.

As the hardware is encrypted, the speed of the data transfer is unaffected. AES-256 means Advnaced Encryption Standard. The algorithm has a block size of 128 bits and a key length of 256 bits. AE-256 is approved by the US government for “top secret” information.

Eventually Fitting Storage Solutions for Mac Users
Apple keeps the range of peripherals extremely slim. That means unfulfilled wishes particularly of professional users. Keyword: data storage. People always seem to get nostalgic over the "good ole days" of personal computing, the less nostalgic of us however can't quite understand why. Days spent getting a game to work, then days more trying to get the sound to work.
Programs supplied on a dozen floppy disks. 300MB hard disks and 14" CRT screens with a curve like a soup bowl. Nope, I'm afraid that looking back does nothing for me but make me cringe.
PC users today (you knew it was coming) have never had it so good. Yes, I'm starting to sound like my grandfather, but at least there are enough PC users from my generation around to back up my assertions. Everything is cheaper, faster, smarter and, as a rule, half the size it was, well, apart from monitors anyway.
When I was saving to get myself a monstrously large 5.25" Seagate ST-225 way back when, I'd have suggested intensive psychiatric therapy for anyone foolish enough to suggest that one day I'd be storing 100GB of data on a 2.5" hard drive that's just 9mm deep. Strangely nobody ever did suggest that, at least not in quite so much detail.
The great thing about all this miniaturisation is that it opens up all kind of new possibilities, and in a world that seems to create important data just for the fun of it (what do we need it all for anyway?), data storage, backup and retrieval is suddenly critical.
