Is hard disk not recognized by Windows?
A new hard disk is not partitioned and formatted. Thus it is not indicated in Explorer or on your desktop. This hard disk must be initialized, partitioned and formatted by your operating system after the first switching on.

The procedure is as following:
Click the symbol desktop with the right mouse and select the point "Administration". In the following window you can select the tool manager and the connected hardware will be indicated. Then under drive you can find the hard disk used in external enclosure. Now search the data carrier administration on the left side and select it. On the right half you find now all drives.

The new data carrier is grey deposited. Select it and click in the term field "data carrier 1" with the right mouse. If you are asked whether the dynamic data carrier should be converted into basis data carrier, please confirm it. Now the data carrier
can be partitioned and formatted if you click in the grey field besides the term with the right mouse and select "new partition". The opening assistant indicates how it is going on. Now you can adjust the partition size, the data system used and also format.

If you can not select the quick format, the formatting can take a little bit more time while the data carrier is not at disposal of the data storage.

In which external enclosure can I use my IDE hard disk?
An IDE ATA-100/133 hard disk can be used in each PATA hard disk enclosure. The term P-ATA (Parallel ATA) is used so that ATA/ATAPI can be delimited from competitive industry standard Serial ATA (S-ATA).

I can remove my SATA hard disk - the computer freeze?
Our device support HotSwap. They need a SATA controller who provide this feature. Please read the manual for your SATA controller to find out more for HotSwap support.

IB-MP301 - how i can format a hard disk with fat32?
In our download area you can find a programm named  h2format. This programm can format a unformat partition with the fat32 file system. Please follow the instructions for this tool.

IB-MP301 - display show "invalid key"?
Our device support only fat32 filesystem. Please format your hdd with fat32 filesystem.

IB-MP305A-B - What FLV files can be played?
FLV files using the FLV1 and h264 and UNDF codec are supported. Is not supported vp6f.

Yes, the USB ports of the device can operate with multiple disks JBOD enclosure. These enclosures can also be used to a USB hub that is connected to the player

IB-NAS4220 - hdd detection failed
try to change your hdd transfer rate to 1.5Gb/s

IB-NAS4210/4220 - The NAS is not reachable as described in the manual with the input of the device name in the address bar of your browser.
By default at the current version of the firmware (2.6.3) Apple's Bonjour protocol is enabled. Please use now NAS4220-B.local (yourName.local) or disable Bonjour protocol if you do not want to use it. If Bonjour is disabled the NAS again as in manual described will be reached by entering IB NAS4220-B. This also applies for IB-NAS4210-B, too.

NAS1000/2000 - i lost all settings after i've format my hard disk
Our NAS save all settings at the hard disk. If you format the drive you lost the settings if you don't prepare a backup. Please format the drive before you configure the NAS.

IB-NAS900/901/1000/2000/4220 – The access of VISTA Home Premium to a password protected list is not possible.

What means JBOD?
JBOD means “Just a buch of discs”. This means that eache disk is visible as a separate volume over one cable. Some internet dictionaries mix up JBOD and NRAID.  

Are those carrier among themselves compatibly?
The exchange the carrier between kind-same devices (MB-122A… - MB-122A…) is problem-free possible. 
To use the carrier in another equipment (MB-122A… - MB-122A…) is not recommended, since it can lead to malfunctionings or to the destruction of the hardware.

When is a USB driver installation necessary?

Is the non removable disk correctly attached - seats the cables correct? Jumper (MA/SL)? Key lock closed? IDE cable in the computer for correct fit examine! 
    
Are there special cables for SCA Mobile Rack?
No, there are only a 68pin SCSI cables. 
    
At which temperature does the alarm start?
With all ICY DOCK the alarm temperature on 55ºC becomes preset. 
    
Can one change the alarm temperature?
- with the MB-988WKDL-T, MB-988WKDF-L-T, MB-912 not
- with MB-988CKDF-L3 and all baking plan can one by Jumper between 45ºC, 55ºC and 65ºC select
- with MB-911 one can stop the alarm temperature at will 
    
Can one switch the alarm off?
Yes, with all ICY dock models an audio muting is possible
 
    
In which cases does the start?
During overheating, i.e. the temperature rises over the alarm temperature and with one disconnecting the exhaust e.g. loss of the current supply to the exhaust.
Attention, if the exhaust by outside force is stopped and the temperature under the alarm temperature remains, does not switch itself on the alarm! 
    
There is two Jumpers with TP print on MB-810, is both for term power to be short circuit?

No, an external terminator is needed.

Can one divide ICY DOCK backplane into several channels?
No, there is only one channel 
    
What means the print "TP" beside a Jumper on the back of backplane? If a Jumper is set here, is it terminatet?
"TP" means term power, not however terminator. If a Jumper is put on here, the current supply for the active terminator is ensured. 
    
What is "RMT START", "SPINDLE SYNC" o r"DELYD START" on the rear?
"RMT START" meant that the non removable disk by the CONTROLLER (remote one) starts
"SPINDLE SYNC" make a synchronisation possible the revolution speed of the non removable disks
"DELYD START" permits it the non removable disks retarded to start (e.g. if a weak power pack is present)

Can I use different non removable disks with Mb-810cf-l3 into capacity and rotational speed?
